Claudio Aranzadi holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales de Bilbao and a degree in Economics from the University of Paris 1 (Pantheon/Sorbonne).

In the public sector, he has been Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of Industry, President (previously Vice-President) of INI (former conglomerate of public companies), Minister (of Industry and Energy and of Industry, Trade and Tourism), and Spanish Ambassador to the OECD. In the private sector, he has worked in the banking sector (Banco de Vizcaya, BBV, BBVA), has been president of Bravo Solution España (e-procurement company of the Italcementi group), consultant in the energy area, and visiting professor at the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. He is coordinator of the annual publication “Energy and Geostrategy”.
